Video: School Receives Check for Safe Driving Efforts

By January 13, 2015No Comments

When the 2014 Shift safe driving contest results were announced, Barbara Ingram School for the Arts in Hagerstown, Maryland, was once again a top finisher.

Now in its third year, Shift encourages teens to creatively share safe driving tips and experiences with their peers. Teens who participated in Shift earned points by completing activities like signing a safe-driver pledge, creating and voting on safe-driver videos, and sharing safety messages with their peers.

Barbara Ingram School for the Arts recently received a check for $5,000 in recognition of their second-place finish. And the school wasn’t the only winner: Four individual students also took home prizes for their efforts. Barbara Ingram student Corey Householder also claimed first place in the new video category. Local media recently filmed the school’s check presentation. Watch the clip above to see the presentation and learn more about why this program has such an impact. You can also read the source article at your4state.com.
