No Regrets Road Trip: History Comes Alive in Indianapolis

By September 3, 2015No Comments

We’re moving ahead on our road trip by going back – in time, that is.

After checking out the Kentucky Bourbon Trail in Lexington, we stop by Conner Prairie in Indianapolis. This living history museum recreates everyday life in Indiana during the 19th century, from cooking and making pottery to raising farm animals and harvesting corn (it’s harder than it looks).

Inside, visitors to Conner Prairie can learn about Indiana’s rich history of science, technology, engineering and math with some fantastic hands-on exhibits. Speaking of technology – did you know Erie Insurance is a participant in the Google Glass pilot program and is testing drones to inspect buildings and home damage?

Conner Prairie is a must-visit for all ages if you’re in the Indianapolis area. Watch the video to see for yourself.

Oh, and if you want to see footage of some adorable baby piglets – skip ahead to 1:11. We won’t even be mad.

Next stop: We meet one of Ft. Wayne, Indiana’s first ridesharing drivers.
